Krishnokoli(L) in Meril Prothom-Alo Award
The song 'Jao Pakhi Balo Tare' completely belongs to Krishnokoli. Its' Lyrics, Tune, Voice- Everything belong to her. The Music album of Monpura was released on August, 2008. But the movie was released on February, 2009. So in the next year one may expect much more awards in many categories for the movie itself.
i do have a option to a vote in favour of Krisnokoli, let i give her my all votes. I am really happy to hearing this song, when i fell alone then heared this one several time. thank you meril-prothom alo committee to select her best singer in this year

ReplyDeletePeople are praising Giausuddin Selim, Chanchal and Milli but to me it is 50% Krishnokoli and 50% the rest of them put together!
I haven't seen the movie yet (but would definitely like to see) but the posters and audion CD are very naive and urban. The sarees, (which I saw on the net)worn by Milli are so crisp and fresh that she looks anything but a poor boatman's daughter....
Coming back to Krishnokoli, I would like to say she has made history by writing, composing and singing a folk song so original and heart touching that 'Jao pakhi bolo tare....' will be remembered in the days to come as a great song in the league of 'Padmar dheo re' 'shona moina pakhi', etc.
Many of our pop singers and bands have tried to compose folk songs but they all sound so hollow and artifical.
A hearty CONGRATULATIONS to Krishnokoli, and hope she would present us with more beautiful songs in the coming days.
