will
Monpura bring the 'Change We Need'? will it bring the middle class to cinema hall once again?
Bangla cinema has experienced its golden era in 60's and 70's when we had directors like Johir Raihan, Khan Ata and others who really made movies that represent us the most. and in west Bengal, that was also the greatest time in film industry. Satyajit roy, Uttam Kumar, Suchitra sen, Shoumitra chaterjee, Chabi biswas, Robi Ghosh- all the perfect artist of this media, spell bounded the audience for decades. That was the period when the songs of bangla movie was enormously popular. Hemanta Mukhapadhya was the ultimate choice for any film, casting Uttam kumar. the combination of this two simply guaranteed success.
But as it is said, ‘
Those Days are Gone'-is the right phrase for bangla cinema. now the middle class(Who are the majority) is hardly aware of bangla movie. the condition is almost the same in Bangladesh and west bengal.
