Monpura- Under piracy threat

Bangla movie is facing a severe threat from pirates of this sector. Any movie released in theaters will be pirated within a couple of days. And there is almost nothing the distributor can do in fair way to protect his movie. Yes, the pirates are now fair enough to propose the proprietor of the movie to bribe him in order to not let it pirated. But as it is said, the proprietor has nothing to do in fair way against those malicious efforts which have spread like a cancer in this industry.

Monpura- Next Mission for 'Pirates of Bangladesh'

As Monpura has got the attention from people of all age and class, so it is under even more severe threat of getting pirated. As the movie has created interest among the Bangladeshi living overseas, so it might also face an 'Internet Piracy'. The movie might be uploaded to a site for 'Free Download'. As the overall internet connectivity in Bangladesh is too bad, so internet piracy may not hurt the distributor in great extent.


So the real threat for Monpura is the piracy inside Bangladesh. As a movie is distributed in theaters with less accreditation, it gets pirated immediately. But to reach people you have to distribute the movie across the country. So it’s like a two edge sword. You have to reach to people and keep yourself away from those pirates. Perhaps, this has become an even bigger challenge than making a good movie.

Release of Monpura- Delayed again?

The release of Monpura seems to be postponed once again. The long waited movie was expected to get release at the end of this year. But now it seems not to be the case. There is no sign of release or promotional from the producer 'Mashranga Production'.

The shooting of Monpura started on June 2007 and finished successfully by February, 2008. Then it was expected to get release on April, 2008. But for some reason it was not released then. The first exhibition of this movie was held on august,2008- which was only for invited guests. so the making and post production tasks are already finished. then it was very expected to get release on Eid-ul-Fitr. Many people was actually looking for the theaters where they can see the movie. But unfortunately, wasn't able to find that.

After that, it was almost certain that the movie will be released on or before Eid-ul-Azha. But there is no sign of release of Monpura before Eid-Ul-Azha and industry insiders said that there are some 9 movies in queue for release on Eid-ul-Azha and Monpura in not on that list.

Though Monpura has made an unbelievable hype before release but its distribution was always been questionable. Even the official website of Monpura- www.monpura.com was not maintained the way it should have been. It is been unavailable for around 2 months( till 13th November, 2008). The distribution policy of 'Monpura' reminds us the fact that- 'its more difficult to meet the hype rather that creating it'. If Monpura fail to keep the promise that it has shown through its wonderful songs and attractive trailers then it would be really unfortunate for Bangla movie.

Release of Monpura- November, 2008

The long waited Bangla film 'Monpura' is expected to get release on next month. Its shooting has already been completed. The shooting of Monpura started on june, 2007 and it was finished by february, 2008.

The making of 'Monpura' took a long period to be completed. it actually took more than two years for gias uddin selim to complete his long dreamed debut film. As the shooting was finished in February,(2008) it was expected to get release on April, 2008. but for some reason the release of Monpura was postponed on April, 2008. Now as the shooting, dubbing, music- everything is completed, so it is expected that,Monpura will be released on November, 2008.
